4 sent to hospital after ‘serious crash’ on 16 Avenue northeast: CPS – Calgary

A serious accident at 16 Avenue Northeast has sent four people in their twenties to hospital, one of them in a life-threatening condition, according to EMS.
At about 1:40 a.m., Calgary Police told Global News they were responding to a three-vehicle accident at the intersection of Edmonton Trail and 16 Avenue Northeast.
EMS also confirmed that with Global, four ambulances and two additional paramedics were on site.
At 2 a.m., EMS said emergency services were still trying to get one person out of a vehicle.
Calgary police called it a “major crash” and noted that the traffic sergeant was on his way to the scene.
Later, EMS said one man was in life-threatening condition while another man was in serious condition. Two women were in serious but stable condition.
It is not known which persons belonged to each vehicle.
As of 5:30 a.m., traffic was completely closed at the intersection where the accident occurred, along with 6 Street Northeast and Center Street for a radius of approximately one block beyond the crime scene.
