Kevin Costner's 'Yellowstone' ends amid cast drama

Yellowstone is ending this year, but will continue with a spin-off series that is part of the “Sheridanverse,” the name of the incredibly successful Western-themed universe created by Sheridan. “The Dutton story picks up and picks up where Yellowstone leaves off in another epic. We are excited to bring this new journey to audiences around the world,” said david glasser, CEO of 101 Studios, a producer of the series.

The spinoff’s plot and casting details are unknown, but Matthew McConaughey has been linked to it. It has also been reported that the current “Yellowstone” cast members may also be featured.

Drama between Costner and the series has existed over the course of the year. In April, the cast and crew canceled a Los Angeles Paley Fest event, resulting in many upset fans who thought the cast and crew didn’t want to bring up the conflict everyone knew about.

Costner’s life is currently in turmoil. He is currently divorcing his wife after 19 years and has repeatedly said that he is approaching the shooting of “Yellowstone” season by season. “I was only going to do one season, but I’ve done so many. I give everything I can for what I do. But the moment I feel it’s not right, I just step away,” he said in an interview with USA today.
